Commercial Timber (Australian Teak) plantations:
In India the demand for timber is increasing enormously due to the fast
growing population. The gap between demand and supply is widening day by day. Building Blocks Group
has taken the initiative of introducing Australian Teak - one of the nature's
truly exotic and wondrous tree species for the customers who purchase plots in
Global Greens. It grows better and fastest in areas with minimum rainfall and
can adapt itself to any type of soil and climatic conditions.
Australian teak trees will reach to a height of 100 ft. (30 mts.) with a stem diameter of 2 ft. (60 cm.) in 12 years’ time. These trees can be cut between 5-6 years of their growth for interim income. Approximate yield from a 12 year old tree is more than 60 cu.ft. of wood. In the current scenario, the rate of Australian teak wood is Rs. 300/400 per cu.ft and is expected to be well above Rs. 1000 per cu.ft. at the time of final cutting.
