Five days after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s visit to Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda district, the administration has prepared a detail report on the temple development which was forwarded to the Chief Minister's office.
According to the report, the gold coating of temple of Vimana Gopuram needs Rs. 50 crore, in addition to that the administration sought Rs. 700 crore for the overhaul development of the temple.
More importantly, the team officials prepared the report giving utmost priority for sanitation on the hill shrine as the Chief Minister was very particular on that aspect. The officials sought Rs. 200 crore for sanitation and solid waste management project to keep the temple premises clean and hygienic. Round the clock sanitation staff would be deputed on the hill shrine.
A team officials comprising district Collector T. Chiranjeevulu, Temple Executive Officer M.M.D. Krishnaveni in consultation with temple priests and others have prepared the report and named the report as Yadagirigutta Divya Kshethram Development Plan.
They sought release of Rs. 250 crore for acquiring 1,500 acres land down the hill shrine in which Nrushima Abhayaranyam will also be developed investing Rs. 100 crore, which also houses Deer Park in 400 acres.
They have also proposed investment of another Rs. 100 crore for raising the height of Gopuram and widening the area of Artha Mandapam and Maha Mandapam. About Rs. 50 crore funds were also sought for raising Gali Gopuram and expanding existing Kalyana mandapam to develop the temple on the lines of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams.
They further urged the Chief Minister to release the proposed funds as early as possible to ground the works. The total cost of the proposed development plan is Rs. 750 crore
Meanwhile, they have also informed the State government that the temple executive officer had deposited Rs. 8.55 crore in the bank account of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Bhongir, to acquire about 385 acres land in the past. They said that the 385 acres land would also included in the temple development plan which would take the total available land to 1,885 acres.
Swachh Bharat campaign today
Meanwhile, officials led by Collector T. Chiranjeevulu will take part in Swachha Bharat programme at Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple on Wednesday.
The district administration has initiated the programme as the Chief Minister expressed his disappointment over the poor sanitation on the temple premises during his visit to the temple town on October 17. He instructed the officials to clean the hill shrine. The Chief Minister also said that he would inspect Yadagirigutta again in 15 days.
The team officials would leave for Yadagirigutta in a bus from Nalgonda on Wednesday early in the morning to participate in the programme.
Meanwhile, a large number of NSS volunteers and others would also participate from the surrounding areas of Yadagirigutta and Bhongir.

NALGONDA: The Telangana government will develop Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda district on the lines of  Tirumala-Tirupati, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.
Rao, who visited the temple on Friday, was received by the temple priests with Poornakumbham. After performing special pujas at the temple, he held a meeting with temple officers at Andal Nilayam on the sacred hill and discussed plans for temple development.
Speaking with media persons later, he said that the government had decided to acquire 2,000 acres of land around the hill, of which 400 acres will be utilised to develop Narasimha Abhayaranyam and the rest for constructing cottages, spiritual centres, kalyana mandapams and parks.
“We have also decided to increase the height of the Garbha Gudi Gopuram and plate it with gold,” he added.
All the development works will be designed by Damanna who designed the Tirumala  premises. Other works will be executed under the supervision of Sthapati, a specialist in designing temples in conformity with Agama Sastra. In two or three years’ time Yadagirigutta would emerge as a big a temple city in 2,000 acres of land and the government would set up an autonomous body to administer it as in the case of Tirupati, Rao declared. For development of the temple the government would seek financial help from  corporates in Hyderabad, he added.
The chief minister said that Yadagirigutta temple was situated in an area of 103 acres but the records showed the land as ‘bancharai’. He asked the district collector to change the records and allot the land to the endowments department. He promised to regularise the services of 42 NMR employees of the temple. Rao disclosed that a Jain organisation had come forward to establish a chain of spiritual centres between Saidapur village in Turkapally mandal and Musaipeta in Jagadevpur mandal in Medak district at an estimated cost of `3,000 crore. If the project fructified, Yadagirigutta and its surroundings would witness rapid development, he claimed.
Minister G Jagadeesh Reddy, Bhongiri MP Boora Narsaiah, MLAs Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Shekar Reddy and Sunitha and district collector T Chiranjeevulu accomapnied Rao.
